Path to the beach
There is a different kind of quiet near the Pacific. The air smells like salt and cedar, the beach stretches farther than you can see, and even a short walk brings perspective and has a way of slowing everything down.
Lewis is a luxury Washington coast vacation rental in Long Beach, built for guests who care about comfort, intentional design, cooking good food, and having easy ways to spend time together. Tucked into a wooded lot about five minutes north of town, it is connected to a lightly used section of the beach by a short six-minute walk on an easy path.
I built Lewis to feel open and full of natural light while still giving every guest privacy. The house has two master suites, a gourmet kitchen, a private hot tub, indoor games, outdoor gathering spaces, and shared game courts. Every choice was made with real vacations in mind, from the Tempur-Pedic beds to the fully loaded kitchen, the screened room, the outdoor soaking tub, and the intentional details that collectively create a feel and experience like no other.
What Makes Lewis a Luxury Washington Coast Vacation Rental
Lewis is approximately 1,450 square feet, with two bedrooms, two king beds, and two bathrooms. Among Washington coast vacation rentals, it stands apart for guests who want the ease of a cabin stay without giving up comfort, privacy, or the details of a high-end home.
Both bedrooms are set up as master suites, so couples traveling together do not have to decide who gets the better room. The ground-floor suite has a king Tempur-Pedic mattress, a 60-inch OLED TV, Apple TV, Sonos soundbar, heated floors, a multi-head double shower, a heated towel bar, a high-end bidet toilet, and a private covered patio with an outdoor soaking tub.
The loft suite feels open and spacious, with a post-and-beam glass wall, king Tempur-Pedic mattress, private deck with lounge chairs, a tiled bathroom with an open multi-head shower, heated floors, and a vented skylight. Privacy blinds let guests close off the space whenever they choose.
Beyond the bedrooms, Lewis gives you a great room made for gathering, a kitchen equipped for real cooking, a screened room for enjoying the fresh air in comfort, a private yard with a hot tub and tournament cornhole court, plus shared access to bocce, pickleball, and tournament-quality sand volleyball courts.
Step Inside the Great Room

At Lewis, skylights, large windows, and the vaulted beam ceiling bring in light even on the gray days that make the Washington Coast feel so atmospheric.
Custom-made open cabinets crafted from live edge cedar slabs, stocked with colorful Fiestaware and a full bar glassware collection: wine, champagne, beer, spirits, and cocktail glasses.
A guitar on the wall, ready to play. One of many small, thoughtful details that make Lewis feel like a home.
High-end plumbing fixtures throughout the house.
Natural light changes the feeling of a room. At Lewis, skylights, tall windows, and the open ceiling bring that light in even on the gray days that make the Washington coast so atmospheric.
A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace anchors the great room. Its salvaged cedar-log mantel adds warmth and character, while hydronic radiant floor heat keeps the entire space comfortable from the ground up. Leather chairs, Pendleton throw blankets, and custom-built furniture set the room apart and, at the same time, encourage you to be a part of it.
This is where the house starts to work the way a vacation home should. Someone can cook at the island while someone else chooses a game, watches a movie, or settles in near the fire. Open the sliders and the adjoining screened room becomes part of the living space, bringing in fresh coastal air while keeping the room protected from wind and rain.
The 77” OLED TV, Apple TV, DirecTV Premier package, Sonos soundbar, and subwoofer turn the room into an easy movie-night destination. But the technology does not dominate the space. The first thing you notice is still the light, the fireplace, and the sense that you can finally settle in.
A Kitchen Built for People Who Actually Cook
Many vacation rentals give you a few pans, a dull knife, and just enough dishes to get by. Lewis was built differently. The kitchen is designed for guests who enjoy cooking, sharing food, and having the right tool when they need it.
There is a gas stovetop, two sinks, generous counter space, cast-iron and stainless-steel cookware, baking dishes and pans, Rosle utensils, Smeg appliances, a KitchenAid mixer, Breville toaster oven, panini grill, waffle maker, pizza oven, ice-cream maker, and more.
The large island gives everyone room to participate without crowding the cook. Fresh herbs grow in the flower gardens all around the yard, and the custom-made live edge cedar cabinets hold a colorful and generous Fiestaware collection, along with dedicated glasses for wine, champagne, beer, spirits, and cocktails.
Indoor Games and Rainy Day Entertainment
Arcade and Video Games
Lewis has plenty of options for game time, including an arcade loaded with approximately 16,800 games. There are also PlayStation and Xbox systems with approximately 60 games each, giving you plenty to choose from whether you are playing solo or spending the evening together.
Outdoor Sink and Fish Cleaning Station
After a day of clamming, fishing, or exploring the coast, Lewis makes cleanup easy with a convenient outdoor sink and fish cleaning station. It gives you a dedicated place to rinse and prepare your catch outside before bringing anything into the kitchen.
The Game Courts at Lewis and Clark
Lewis has its own tournament cornhole court in the private yard. It is close enough to the hot tub, grill, and screened room that a game can happen while dinner is cooking or while the rest of the group relaxes nearby.
Just beyond the private yard, Lewis and Clark share a dedicated outdoor recreation area with a 13-by-75-foot bocce court, a pickleball court, and a tournament-quality sand volleyball court with an adjustable net.
The courts give you something easy to do together without planning an outing. Start with a casual game and it may become the part of the trip everyone talks about afterward. Equipment is provided, so guests can simply walk outside and play.
Why Lewis Works as a Washington Coast Vacation Rental Near the Beach
Lewis sits on a wooded lot about five minutes north of downtown Long Beach. The setting feels private and removed from town, but the restaurants, shops, boardwalk, and family attractions of Long Beach are still close when you want them.
The Pacific is connected to the house by an easy walking path that takes approximately six minutes. The path opens onto a lightly used section of the peninsula’s long, uninterrupted beach, giving you room to walk, read, fly a kite, search for shells, or simply stand beside the ocean and let the vast space all around you sink in.
That combination is what makes Lewis especially useful as a home base. You can reach the beach without loading a car, return to rinse sandy feet or your dog at the outdoor washing station, and then move directly into the hot tub, screened room, or warmth of the great room.
Long Beach is close. The Pacific is closer. And when you are back at Lewis, the wooded setting makes the rest of the world feel farther away.
Two Primary Suites With Equal Attention to Comfort

Lewis works especially well for two couples, close friends, or a small family because both bedrooms are treated as primary suites. Each has a king Tempur-Pedic mattress, high-quality bedding, a private bathroom experience, and its own reason to be someone’s favorite room.
The ground-floor suite has exposed beams, optional indirect lighting, a 60-inch OLED TV with Apple TV and Sonos sound, heated bathroom floors, a heated towel bar, a high-end bidet toilet, and a spacious multi-head double shower. A sliding door opens onto a secluded, covered patio with an outdoor soaking tub.
The loft suite has a post-and-beam glass wall that keeps the room visually connected to the architecture of the cabin. Privacy blinds close when desired. The suite also includes heated tile floors, a skylight, an open multi-head shower, and a private deck with two lounge chairs overlooking the yard.
Nobody has to accept the smaller bed, the hallway bathroom, or the room that feels like an afterthought. Both suites were designed to feel intentional.
The Bedding Details Matter

A local craftsman built this one-of-a-kind king bed from salvaged logs, commissioned especially for Lewis.
The king Tempur-Pedic mattress is finished with a feather topper, down pillows, a down comforter, Belgian linen, and high-thread-count cotton sheets.
The ground-floor master opens directly to a private covered patio with privacy half walls.
One of many intentional details throughout the home.
Live plants throughout the home for a fresher, more natural indoor environment.
After a windy beach walk, a long bike ride, a day at Cape Disappointment, or an evening in the hot tub, a truly comfortable bed becomes one of the most valuable luxuries in the house.
Both king beds use Tempur-Pedic mattresses. The bedding includes down feather toppers, down pillows, down comforters, Belgian linen duvet covers, high-thread-count cotton sheets, and down throw pillows.
These are not decorative details added for a photograph. They are choices made for the hours that matter most—when the house is quiet, the day is over, and everyone needs to sleep well.
Private Spa Features for Slow Coastal Evenings
The Washington coast has a way of working the noise out of your head. Lewis continues that feeling with three different bathing experiences: a spacious double shower, a secluded outdoor soaking tub, and a private Hot Spring hot tub beneath a cedar pergola.
Together, these features make Lewis a thoughtful choice for guests searching for a Long Beach, WA, cabin with a hot tub and a little more care built into the experience.
Parking, EV Charging, and RV Hookup
Lewis has a wide driveway with generous parking. EV charging and an RV hookup are also available.
An additional fee applies for RV use, so guests should contact Toby before booking if someone in the group plans to bring an RV. Standard occupancy is four guests inside the house. With approved RV use, occupancy may increase to six, with four guests in Lewis and two in the RV.
Dog-Friendly, Because the Beach Is Better With Your Dog
Lewis is dog friendly with prior approval, so your four legged companion can be part of the beach getaway too.
The Long Beach Peninsula is a wonderful place to explore with a dog, with miles of open shoreline, fresh coastal air, and plenty of space for long walks and outdoor adventures. From Lewis, a quieter stretch of beach is only about a six minute walk away, making it easy to head out for an early morning stroll, an afternoon run along the sand, or a peaceful sunset walk together.
After a day at the beach, Lewis also makes cleanup easier with a dedicated outdoor dog washing station featuring warm water and a handheld showerhead. Dog beds, dishes, and towels are provided as well, so your dog can settle in comfortably while you relax and enjoy the coast.
Close to the Beach, Downtown, and the Best of the Peninsula
Lewis keeps you close to the reason people come here: the Pacific. The Long Beach Peninsula has approximately 28 miles of continuous ocean beach, giving you room to walk, fly a kite, dig for razor clams in season, read, or simply watch the horizon.
Downtown Long Beach is about a five-minute drive away. You can visit Scooper’s Market for ice cream, Marsh’s Free Museum, the giant frying pan on Pacific Avenue, local restaurants, and family attractions, then return to the quieter wooded setting around Lewis.
The Discovery Trail is another easy way to explore. The paved trail travels through dunes and coastal scenery between Long Beach and Ilwaco and is well suited to walking or biking.

Lewis Through the Seasons
Summer
Long days and steady kite-flying wind. Time for the boardwalk, the Discovery Trail, and dinner on the grill at nine.
Fall
The crowds go home and the peninsula turns quiet. Razor clam digs return, and they run on evening low tides.
Winter
Made for storm watching. Walk the beach in the wind, then come back to the hot tub and the fireplace.
Spring
Milder days and migrating birds along the refuge. The trails open up again and the whole coast feels new.
A Good Fit for Slow Food, Beach Walks, and Quiet Evenings
Lewis is designed for guests who notice the details and prefer a slower, more meaningful coastal experience.
Make coffee exactly the way you like it, pour it into a Yeti mug, and take the path to the beach before breakfast. Return to prepare a real meal in a kitchen that has the tools and space to make cooking enjoyable.
Spend the afternoon on the game courts, the Discovery Trail, or exploring the peninsula. Later, open the sliders to the screened room, start the grill, or choose a game from the shelf while the fireplace warms the great room.
When the day is done, use the hot tub, take a quiet outdoor soak, and settle into a king Tempur-Pedic bed. Lewis is not about rushing to fit everything in. It is about having a beautiful place where everyone can finally slow down.
Things to Do Near Lewis
Walk the Long Beach Boardwalk
The Long Beach Boardwalk crosses dunes and beach grass with views toward the Pacific. It connects easily with the Discovery Trail and is a simple way to begin your first morning on the peninsula.
The paved Discovery Trail runs approximately 8.5 miles between Long Beach and Ilwaco. Walk a short section, bring bicycles for a longer ride, or use the trail to see dunes, coastal forest, wildlife, and interpretive signs sharing local history.
Visit Cape Disappointment State Park
Cape Disappointment State Park is one of the best day trips from Lewis. The park includes lighthouses, forested trails, Waikiki Beach, dramatic viewpoints, and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
You can read my full local guide to Cape Disappointment State Park before you go, or check the official Washington State Parks page for current park details.
Explore Willapa National Wildlife Refuge
For birding and quiet trails, Willapa National Wildlife Refuge is a special place. The refuge protects tidelands, temperate rainforest, ocean beaches, and habitat for migrating shorebirds.
The bay side of the peninsula feels completely different from the open Pacific. It is worth experiencing both during the same stay. Check the official U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service page before planning your visit.
End the Day With a Beach Bonfire
A beach bonfire is one of the classic Long Beach experiences when weather, wind, and current rules allow. Bring chairs, firewood, warm layers, and something to roast, then watch the sky change over the Pacific.
I have created a practical guide explaining how to plan your own beach bonfire in Long Beach, including what to bring and what to consider before heading out.
Built by an Owner Who Sweated the Details
I not only manage the Beachhousewa homes, I have built or extensively remodeled each one. I designed and built Lewis to be a refuge, a place where you can breathe deep and reconnect.
The layout, skylights, radiant heat, kitchen flow, master suites, bathing spaces, game storage, screened room, outdoor areas, and even the places where you rinse sand were chosen with purpose and intentionality.
It’s not an accident that Lewis feels different from a basic vacation rental filled with whatever furniture and a kitchen outfitted as an afterthought. Distilled with light and life, it is not only beautiful, but comfortable and designed to share with your loved ones.
