I grew up taking family vacations at the beach, and I still remember arriving and rushing inside to see what we had rented. You can cook dinner instead of heading back out, get into the hot tub, sit by the fire, or settle into a comfortable chair with a book. A good vacation home gives you plenty to enjoy without requiring another reservation, another drive, or perfect weather.
Games Should Be Part of the Trip
Games have always been a big part of the Beachhousewa homes because they give people something to do together without much planning. They work on a rainy afternoon, after dinner, or on a perfectly sunny day when everyone decides they would rather stay at the house.
Seagrass has a large, fully loaded game room and a volleyball court. Ocean Trail and Beach Cabin have dedicated game rooms as well.
Lewis has a 77-inch OLED TV, PS4, Xbox, and an arcade. Clark has more than 75 board games, more than 20 puzzles, Legos, Lincoln Logs, a PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and an arcade cabinet with thousands of classic titles.
Outside, Lewis and Clark share a 13-by-75-foot bocce court, pickleball court, and tournament-quality sand volleyball court. Sometimes a game lasts twenty minutes. Sometimes everybody gets competitive, and it takes over the afternoon. Both are good outcomes.
I put these things into the homes because they are exactly the kinds of things my kids and I love to do together when we go on vacation.
Space to Be Together, and Space to Yourself
The bedroom layout starts to matter when couples, grandparents, adult children, or friends travel together. Everyone wants to spend time together, but everyone also appreciates having a comfortable place of their own at the end of the day.
Seagrass has 5 total bedrooms, including 3 master suites. Ocean Trail has 6 total bedrooms, including 2 master suites. Beach Cabin has 2 master suites. Lewis and Clark each have 2 master suites with king beds and adjoining bathrooms.
You can have breakfast together, spend the day at the beach, come back for dinner, and still have a comfortable bedroom to retreat to when you are done for the night. That balance works especially well when several couples or generations are traveling together.
For larger groups, all five Beachhousewa homes are within walking distance of one another. Families and friends can stay close without putting everyone under one roof. Check the individual booking listings for current occupancy, since those details can change.
You Do Not Have to Go Out for Every Meal
A few days at the beach can start feeling overly scheduled when breakfast, lunch, and dinner all require deciding where to go, getting everyone ready, and getting back in the car.
All five Beachhousewa homes have fully loaded kitchens. I like being able to wake up and make coffee before deciding what the day is going to look like. Breakfast can take an hour if nobody is in a hurry.
The kitchens are set up for people who actually want to cook. At Clark , for example, there are two sinks, a gas stovetop, generous counter space, Smeg appliances, a Smeg steamer oven, a KitchenAid mixer, cast iron and stainless steel cookware, and a coffee bar with drip, pour-over, French press, espresso, Bialetti, burr grinder, and milk frother.
Make an early morning coffee and then pour it into your Yeti mug and take your before-breakfast walk with a hot coffee the entire walk. Come back and cook breakfast when you are ready.
Dinner can work the same way. Pick something up during the day, cook together that evening, open a bottle of wine, and let dinner become part of the night instead of another place you need to be.
Comfort Shows Up in Small Details
When I look at Long Beach WA hotels, I think about how much of the trip actually happens where you are staying. Morning coffee, a rainy afternoon, dinner with everyone around the table, a game that runs late, or a quiet hour before bed can take up just as much of the vacation as the time you spend exploring the Peninsula. Having more space gives those parts of the trip somewhere to happen.
A good mattress becomes pretty important around midnight. Tempur-Pedic mattresses are found throughout the Beachhousewa homes, and every property has its own hot tub. Those are the kinds of details I care about because you use them repeatedly during the stay.
The homes have different ways of handling the end of the day. Ocean Trail gives you an outdoor fireplace along with its oceanfront setting and private beach access. Lewis has a gas fireplace, hot tub, and outdoor soaker tub. Clark adds a steamer shower along with its hot tub and outdoor soaker tub.
Beach Cabin has always had a different feel to me. Its 1.2 wooded acres are landscaped with flowers, succulents, herbs, and all kinds of plants. The pergola is the central gathering spot, with the hot tub and custom fire table bringing everyone together outside.
Seagrass gives a larger group an ocean view inside a gated community, along with its hot tub, game room, and volleyball court. The homes are different, but I apply the same attention to detail to the things that make people comfortable once they stop moving around for the day.
The Right Amount of Space Depends on Your Trip
If you need more bedrooms, Ocean Trail and Seagrass naturally give a larger family or group more room. Ocean Trail places the Pacific at the center of the experience with its oceanfront setting and private beach access. Seagrass gives you 3 master suites inside its 5 total bedrooms and a lot to do right at the property.
Beach Cabin works differently, with its wooded grounds, two master suites, game room, gardens, pergola, hot tub, and custom fire table. It has a tucked-away quality that I have loved since I first found the place after six years of looking for a beach house.
Lewis suits a couple, two couples, or a small family, with two king master suites, adjoining bathrooms, indoor entertainment, an outdoor soaker tub, and the shared game courts. Clark is its newer twin, also with two king master suites, plus the steamer shower, deep game collection, and a kitchen I put a lot of thought into.

Long Beach Is Better When You Do Not Schedule Every Hour
A good place to stay gives you permission to slow down. You can spend a morning on the Long Beach Boardwalk, come home for lunch, play a game, get in the hot tub, and decide later if anyone feels like heading out again.
